Overview

Holiday: the AI plans.
You approve.

An AI travel app that brings stays, transport, activities and a live budget into one guided flow, and books nothing until you say yes.

Planning a trip today means five tools, a budget kept in your head, and no clear answer to "what will this actually cost?" Holiday is a mobile concept that puts the whole trip in one place. An AI drafts the plan, a live budget tracks the total, and a mandatory confirmation step keeps the traveller in control of every booking.

The Problem

Five tools, a budget in your head, and no total.

Travellers use three to five separate tools for a single trip: one for flights, another for stays, others for transport and activities. Budget lives in mental maths, notes and spreadsheets. The constant switching wastes time and causes real errors, like booking the wrong airport.

What six traveller interviews showed [Conducted by myself]
• 6 of 6 tracked their budget by hand, so a live in-app tracker was needed.
• 6 of 6 wanted a single consolidated tool.
• 5 of 6 used 3+ platforms per trip, and switching was the source of errors.
• 5 of 6 rejected autonomous AI booking. They wanted to confirm, not delegate.

The Gap:

MakeMyTrip covers everything, but in siloed tabs with no total cost. ChatGPT plans, but travellers rated it "50/50" for accuracy and it can't book. None shows a real-time total trip cost.

Design challenge:

consolidate planning and budget in one flow without letting AI act unsupervised.

Insight to Design

Every screen traces back to something a User said.

My rule was that nothing enters the product without a research finding or competitor pattern behind it. Four decisions shaped it:

1. One screen, not five apps

Finding: 5 of 6 juggle 3+ platforms.

Decision: a single AI Plan Workspace with day-by-day itinerary, flights and transit, stays, activities and food, and a map toggle.

3. Confirmation as a hard gate

Finding: 5 of 6 wanted to review before booking.

Decision: a required step showing every line item, what data is shared and with whom, and the cancellation policy, ending in an explicit "Confirm & pay". Navigation is hidden so attention stays on the irreversible action.

Webflow development and customization

Website maintenance and updates

4. Make it natural conversation, not a form

Finding: 4 of 6 preferred a chat-style start, and 5 of 6 wanted budget set before planning.

Decision: a conversational start asking for destination, dates, group size and budget (required), with advanced inputs optional

The Solution

The AI plans. You approve.

My rule was that nothing enters the product without a research finding or competitor pattern behind it. Four decisions shaped it:

Tell it the basics:

A chat-style planner takes destination, dates, group and budget.

Review a full plan:

Day-by-day itinerary, flights, stays and activities, with weather-aware insights. The budget ($2,860 of $3,200) stays in view. Edit anything or regenerate with feedback.

Confirm with full visibility:

Line-item breakdown, data-sharing transparency, cancellation policy, explicit approval.

Stay on track:

Confirmations, add to calendar and a pre-trip checklist. Trips, Wallet and Profile hold plans, payments, traveller details and privacy controls.
